A clash of definitions.

GREETINGS HUMANS,

There certainly have been issues lately. As a matter of fact issues should be capitalised.

ISSUES.

Apparently, our good Indian friends have been causing a racket lately precipitating all manners of roadblocks in our beloved city of
Kuala Lumpur. Really, I can understand their grief, certainly after all these years of brilliantly concealed "exploitation", I truly believe in their grief.
However their protesting certainly goes against the country's spirit somewhat, as in "muhibah", "cemerlang, gemilang dan terbilang". I would be able to conclude that "Country memang boleh" right now, "Memang boleh cause trouble" that is.
Really its a bit crazy over here right now. Soon Citizens of the Country would be flinching at the mere mention of the word protests. Better(!) no mention of the word should be heard by public ears lest some "quarters" decide to take matters into their own hands. YES, people. There have been mention that some fella from UMNO Youth has blabbed out something preposterously stupid, something around the lines of "You want to fight?*insert manic laughter* You better be careful, because when we Malays fight we bring out an entire cache of parangs to wage war!"

So indeed, this Country is slowly going to the dogs. I could hardly believe that piece of news when I first read it in the Singaporean Straits Times. It gave me a teeny weeny churning feeling in the stomach. :S
Whatever happened to the true spirit of this country, abang?
Lu nak bunuh orang ke?
SEA games tak da piala untuk bunuh orang la!
So we hear rumours over the next few days. The Government has labelled the HINDRAF group of people as "extremists" thus sparking a smear campaign in our so great "free" press. Wait a minute...am I missing a beat here?

Let's define extremism.

Extremism is a term used to describe the actions or ideologies of individuals or groups outside the perceived political center of a society; or otherwise claimed to violate common standards of ethics
and reciprocity. It is usually considered by those to whom it is applied to be a pejorative term. It is typically used in reference to political and social ideologies seen as irrational, counterproductive, unjustifiable, or otherwise unacceptable to a civil society. The term connotes the illegitimacy of certain ideas or methods.

Yeah? Surely extremist is the best term to describe them...if you want to discredit those who are involved. Of course you surely can't call these people "terrorist", "hullabaloos" or some rough equivalent of "Islamist" because they are not pushing for a Hindu government here aren't they? However, extremist might be a tad to "extreme" to describe these people. Cut them some slack, man. For sure these people shouldn't be picketing and rioting around in the Capital as they wish but at least hear them out.

Their case is fairly strong if you ask me. Indians represent such a minor part of this society because they have constantly been marginalised socially, economically and politically. Surely they have a right as "free speakers in a democratic society" to at least plead their sad plight in front of the people of the Country. Look at it this way.

By means of basic reasoning we shall consider the Indian peoples in all fairness in three categories.

Politics.
The only Indian minister they have that represents them is Mr Sammy Vellu. Yes, our good friend, who does an impeccable job overlooking the desperate state of public works in the country. One Indian fella. And that Indian fella is supposed to represent the Indian community in the Cabinet. Fantastic. Obviously there is Karpal Singh. However, the government would rather shoot themselves than listen to him, considering his loyalties lie in the Opposition. Frankly there isn't much going for the Indians in politics. Compared to the Chinese and the Malays....hmmm...marginalised? I'd give it some serious thought. This area only manages to get a score of 4/10. Fair enough.

Economic.

Well, Indians have been doing very well. In this Country, they represent a significant portion of our professional workforce. They are not exploited as badly as in some other countries, e.g Singapore(!) yes, you read correctly. It's happening sure, the discrimination, but it's still tolerable. Considering Indians have a few hotshots among the local rich and famous such as Ananda Krishnan, Tony Fernandes and Bernard Chandran. I would give the Indians 7/10 in this area. Doing pretty well I might say.

Social.

This is the crux of the ongoing debate. Seemingly the Government is not doing enough for the Indians in this respect. Among the various complaints include the issue of scholarships. Apparently, if 10 scholarships were to be given to the
Rakyat, 7 would go to the Bumis, 2 would go to the Chinese, and 1 would go to the Indians. This has been a long ongoing debate, but it would be best in our interest as dutiful Citizens of the Country not to challenge it. It has been said that scholarships here are given out according to societal ratio therefore certainly this PTPTN scholarships are fair enough considering the country that we live in. So accept it, thambi! The goldmine issue that sparked this furore among Hindus in our country is the kuil issue. Apparently some smart asses among the "smart" and "competent" decision makers up there decided to demolish an Indian temple recently. Few months back I would say. Surely they would have expected some sort of backlash!?!? I really don't know whether these people ever use the organ they call the brain! The worst thing was, they left the mosque, which was also illegally built standing! What could they have been thinking? Were they high on nondescript amount of tapai while they were doing the job? Really...So in this area I think I'll be giving them 3/10. Its not as bad as they make it out to be. Its much worse. Tsktsk.

Now, that was one side of the story.

Here we have the other side!

I pity the Government for they have to handle statements and people of "pelbagai ragam". That's what they call it here in the Country.

Two days ago, the masterminds of HINDRAF proudly declared that they would rid Malaysia of the horrible crime of ethnic cleansing once and for all. Obviously these baboons were trying to garner public support. =.=" I 'm not entirely sure whether they knew what ethnic cleansing means and what implications their speech would have on the country's well being. Surely it wouldn't bode well among peoples in this country. Certainly accusing your Government of committing a sin such as ethnic cleansing is over the fine line between democracy and sheer publicity for your ideologies. Surely some people think otherwise about the so called "ethnic cleansing" happening in Malaysia. SURELY!!!

Now lets define ethnic cleansing.

It is the mass expulsion and killing of one ethic or religious group in an area by another ethnic or religious group in that area.

Is that what is happening in this Country? Why,Malaysians must be really fierce then, they ritually cleanse their houses of the presence of mosquitoes every night. Unless of course you fellas consider mosquitoes a veritable part of our society and deserve a chance to live.

Let's take a look at some of the worst cases of ethnic cleansing. There was the one in Bosnia. Remember Bosnia, we Malaysians went to Bosnia as peacekeepers once. That civil war was sparked by ethnic cleansing. That is ethnic cleansing. Remember Rwanda. Those
Tutsis and Hutus were savagely hacking each other into pieces. That is ethnic cleansing. Could you possibly recount any days in Malaysian history where people went en masse on to the streets and started butchering every Ali, Ah Cheong and Arumugam for the consumption of stray animals? Can you? Has it ever happened that when you go to a temple to seek sanctuary you get butchered by the priests themselves? That is ethnic cleansing. That is what happened in Rwanda, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Croatia.

Not in Malaysia!

Malaysia was built on peace and tolerance.
Keep those values.
Accept thy brothers no matter what their flaws are.

What I am trying to say is we should never go to extremes. Abolish social engineering in Malaysia.
It is apparent that the plans of our forefathers are not working so adapt to the times. Give everyone equal rights accorded to them by the Constitution.
This is a Country. Not a slaughterhouse, not a ground for turf wars of the old where drug lords fought for supremacy.
This is today.
We are Malaysians, and Malaysians should remember what it is like to be truly Malaysian.
Don't marginalise or discriminate according to race.
We are of one heritage after all. Me no different from you.

There Darrel. I updated.

It's prom tonight. :P-
